What we keep about you

Plainly, and only what running your tour needs.

What we keep, and why

When you book a tour with us we keep what the booking needs: your name, your email address, your phone number, the address we collect you from, and anything you tell us about the day — the wineries you want, an occasion, a dietary need, who is not drinking.

If you write to us — by email, by text, or in the chat on this site — we keep what you wrote, so the person answering can see what was already said.

We keep it to run your tour: to hold your seat, to tell a winery how many are coming, to send your guide the day, and to be able to answer you.

Where it is held

Our booking system runs on Vercel, and its database is hosted by Neon in Oregon, in the United States. Your information is therefore stored outside Canada, and while it is there it is subject to United States law, including lawful access requests by United States authorities.

Canadian and British Columbian privacy law — PIPEDA, and BC's PIPA — allow this provided we tell you, which is what this page is for. We remain responsible for your information wherever it is held.

Your guide's location

While a tour is running, your guide can choose to share the van's location so our desk can see where it is and tell a winery when to expect you. The guide turns this on and off themselves.

We keep the day's positions for that day only. They are deleted the following morning, and they are never used to assess a guide.

Seeing it, and correcting it

Write to hello@wildertours.ca and we will tell you what we hold about you and correct anything that is wrong.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of services to do things we cannot do ourselves.

Neon
hosts the database itself, in the United States.
Vercel
runs the booking system, in the United States.
Resend
sends and receives our email, so your address and your message pass through it.
Stripe
takes payment. Your card details never reach us — the payment page is Stripe's own, and we are told only that a booking was paid.
Anthropic
reads replies to suggest what they mean, so a message you send us may be processed by it. A person at our desk decides what happens next; nothing acts on your message on its own.
Twilio
carries texts to and from our number, when we text you.
Slack
carries messages between us and some wineries.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
